Description

MOVEMENT Gilded verge fusee movement, with nicely engraved and pierced balance cock. Signed and numbered (12393). All in good original condition, with a few scratches around the pillars. Running well.

DIAL White enamel, in excellent condition, with just some light surface scratches, but no chips or repairs.

INNER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1800. Maker's mark TC. Good condition throughout with a couple of slight bruises at the winding aperture. The high dome bull's eye crystal is fine. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes properly. The bow is probably a replacement.

OUTER CASE Silver, with matching hallmarks to the inner. Very good condition throughout. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes correctly, but the catch button is missing.

Josiah Bartholomew is listed in London (Clerkenwell) from 1799 until 1844.
