Description
MOVEMENT Excellent quality gilded fusee cylinder movement, with large diamond endstone and engraved and pierced balance cock. Unusual and very ornate pillars. Signed and numbered (7528). Protected by a removable gilt dustcap, signed and numbered as the movement. The movement is running well and in exceptional condition.DIAL The white enamel dial is in almost perfect condition with just one small chip repaired on the edge at 12 and a couple of minor surface scratches. Nice 18th century gold hands (not reproductions).
INNER CASE 22 carat gold, hallmarked for London, 1773, maker HB (rubbed) and also stamped with the movement serial number. The case is in very good condition though the gold stem and bow are replacements and have an old repair. The hinge is fine and the case closes though doesn't snap shut. Good crystal with no damage.
OUTER CASE 22 carat gold, with no hallmarks. A beautiful repousse case, with a little wear to the high points on the back, but no pin holes or repairs. The hinge and catch are fine, but with wear to the button. The case snaps shut nicely.
The gold cases, excluding crystal and movement, weigh 51.7 gms.
