Gilt & horn triple cases - John Robson, 1762

Description
MOVEMENT Nicely gilded movement. The engraved and pierced balance cock has a “lace edge”, typical of the period around 1760. The movement is fully signed and numbered (45337). It is in good original condition and is running well.DIAL White enamel. It is in excellent condition with just some surface scratches and no repairs. Nice original 18th century beetle and poker hands.
INNER CASE Silver, with London hallmarks for 1762, maker HB. The case is in very good condition, though the pendant has been reattached to the case. The hinge is fine and the case closes nicely. The high dome crystal is fine.
MIDDLE CASE No hallmarks and nicely engraved on the back with the initials JRF?. A perfect fit for the inner and no reason to doubt that it is original. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely. Generally in good condition except for a few light bruises on the back and a short crack near the engraving.
OUTER CASE Silver, with horn covering. Again in good condition, with good colour and no restoration. The bezel has a couple of short cracks, no pieces missing and 12 pins missing. The back again has no pieces missing, 3 short cracks and most of the pins missing. The hinge and catch are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
