Description

MOVEMENT Signed and numbered (147) gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved balance cock and plate, and silver regulator disk. Complete and original condition, running well.

DIAL Very nice silver champleve dial, signed in the centre. Fine 18th century blued steel beetle and poker hands. All in excellent condition.

INNER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1740, maker's mark rubbed. Very good condition though the pendant has been reattached and the bow is probably a replacement. The hinge is fine. The high dome crystal is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1758, maker JW. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the case snaps shut nicely. The case has a beautifully engraved monogram on the back.
Although the outer case is slightly later than the inner, it is a perfect fit and has not been modified, so it could have been made specially for the inner.
