Description

Here we have a wonderful Victorian Mahogany apothecary chest c1880. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. The chest has a caddy top and which lifts to reveal compartments for bottles etc. Most of the original bottles are labelled Southampton which seems to fit with the story that this chest was used on the WW1 hospital ship TrSS St David c1914. There is a single long drawer to the base again with original contents. There are also brass fixing mounts for use on board a ship. The chest is made using hand cut dovetail construction and is in super condition throughout. The dimensions are approx 19 inches wide 12 high and 11 deep.
