A large superb quality William IV regency gilt wood overmantle mirror. This 19th century giltwood overmantel wall mirror is all hand carved and gilded in a 24 ct gold leaf. This is the more desirable carved wood mirror rather than their inferior plaster counterparts which were pour moulded by the thousands. These are one-offs and were usually commissioned by discerning private clients. This piece retains the original silver baked mirror plate. Excellent condition. Circa 1830. Measures 70”w x 71”h x 4”d.
