Description

A rare early nineteenth century French brass wall pocket commemorating the marriage of the Emperor Napoleon and Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria in 1810.
The back is a copy of the commemorative medal by Bernard Andrieu.
The semi circular pocket is decorated with cherubs depicted carving up the world.
25.5 cms high x 15cms wide.
Some perforations caused by cleaning over the years.Some knocks.Please see photos

Marie Louise was 18 and Napoleon 40 at the time of their marriage.
