Offered for sale is this superb set of eight Chippendale style mahogany dining chairs consisting of six single and two carver chairs and dating from about 1920. The high backed chairs have a shaped and crisply carved back rail with a pierced and carved centre splat above newly reupholstered drop-in seats on cabriole supports with shell carved shoulders and ball and claw feet.The chairs are well proportioned and are a rich mellow brown colour, they are in excellent showroom condition with all joints firm and have been cleaned, revived and hand waxed with newly reupholstered seats covered in a neutral cream and gold fabric.These chairs are in virtually mint condition.
