Description

This is a smart Art Deco Pressed Glass Caster with a Silver Plated Top. The pressed glass body is lighthouse shaped with a broad base tapering upwards and has deep grooves all the way round. The screw fit silver plate top is domed with a short turned finial.

The caster is ideal for sprinkling icing sugar onto cakes or puddings, caster sugar onto fruit, cocoa powder or cinnamon onto coffees or any other number of uses.

The caster has no makers' mark but is British and dates to the Art Deco period around the 1920s / 1930s.

Condition is good, with just a couple of truly tiny nibbles to the bottom rim of the glass body, no significant plate loss and only the superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The caster stands 14cm / 5.5ins high and is 7.9cm / 3.1ins across the base. It weighs 272.1g / 9.6oz.
