George Price Safe Badge & Escutcheon

Photos

Description

This impressive combined badge and escutcheon in a collection would bring to mind the colourful events surrounding George Price during the early 1850’s. The 212 on the plate would also confirm that the safe was a fireproof model as 212°f is the temperature that water turns to steam which in an enclosed space, between the inner and outer safe walls, and with other minerals had a cooling effect on the inside of the safe. It’s in good condition and is as removed from the safe and therefore the new owner will have the choice of either leaving it as near to original or to polish. Size 136 x 226mm. Cast brass.
