Vintage Herkert & Meisel Trunk

Description
A very attractive heavy fibre luggage trunk made by Herkert & Meisel, St Louis Missouri, who started trading in 1888. This trunk dates from the first half of the 20th century.The original metal corners & lock retain some of the original gilding & lock has its original key.The trunk is overall a maroon colour with golden tram line decoration.
The interior retains the original paper lining.
The leather handles are also original.
This would make a great coffee table.
