Description

An extremely pretty silver and guilloche enamel powder compact. This elegant and classic powder compact is hallmarked silver and guilloche enamel. This beautiful compact has a silvery white enamel circular centre design which is bordered by a contrasting light baby blue enamel and from that four evenly spaced stylised leaves delicately touch the silver centre. Inside the lid is the mirror and this compact comes with its original sifter and puff. The hallmark is stamped on the base of the compact and is Joseph Gloster Ltd, Birmingham, 1947.

This wonderful compact is in excellent condition. The guilloche enamel is in fantastic condition. I could only find a tiny raised lump to the right of the clasp. The clasp closes with a firm click and works perfectly. The mirror is clear. There is a slight indent to the left of where the hallmark has been stamped on the base.
