Description

A pretty 1950's Kigu, England Cherie powder compact from the 58 series.  This delicate and elegant powder compact is designed in the shape of a heart and is one of Kigu's most famous styles of compact.  This 'Cherie' is in gold tone with stunning engine turned decoration which sparkles in the light.  This compact also has a cartouche where initials or name could be personalised.   Inside the inner lid is marked above the mirror with  'Cherie Patented' and underneath the mirror is marked 'Made in England'.  The powder well cover has the Kigu logo in the centre. The original sifter is present. 

This compact is in fantastic condition thoughout.  The body of the compact looks and feels incredible.  Inside there are some very light surface scratches.  The mirror has some light marks but nothing significant and it is useable with nothing that distracts you.   The powder well opens by sliding the catch down and reveals the original sifter.  It has been used as there is a light smell of powder that was previously present.  There is light powder residue on the sifter. The compact is firm to close and the catch has an audible click.  All in all this is an extremely good example of the Cherie.
