A stunning vintage 1950's Pygmalion Globe powder compact. This is a fantastic powder compact and a known book piece. These type of compacts are known as novelty compacts. Here we have a superb example of the Pygmalion Globe compact. It sits perfectly on a flattened base and has an engraved map of the world on its brass body. It comes with its original puff and sifter and its original black pouch. The clasp works perfectly and shuts with an audible click and the hinge works perfectly.

The condition is excellent throughout with only the mirror showing signs of age with some fogging and silvering around the edge of the mirror but it is perfectly useable. There is a mark on the rim near Africa but I can't make out if it meant to be there but thought it best to point it out.
