super quality rosewood dressing / jewellery box by daltons of 85 quadrant, london with decorative brass inlay, the interior fitted with silver topped bottles etc (not hallmarked), lift out tray with storage well below, release button which activates the spring opening 'secret' drawer fitted out to hold rings etc. to the underside of the lid is a velvet covered fall front panel with a mirror on the reverse side, brass cartouche to the lid engraved with indistinct initials which could be JS.
other than some minor losses of brass inlay, a couple of old veneer repairs (none of which are obvious and certainly do not detract from the piece)normal light scratches, this beautiful box is in very good condition and is
difficult to do justice in the photographs.
