Charming Victorian sampler worked by Jane Duncan aged 12 in December 1849 and depicts The Tenantry Column erected in 1816 in Alnwick by tenants of the Duke Of Northumberland, topped by the Percy family lion as well as number, letters, initials, birds, peacocks, flowers etc and the motto Religion is out guide and industry our support.With minor wear and fading, overall this charming sampler is in good condition.
