very handsome oak games tantalus with decorative carved panels and decorative mounts, the three cut glass decanters with mirrored panel behind, hinged lids open to various compartments and 'secret' spring mechanism operates the release of the base drawer fitted with compartments for games, glasses, etc ( one present ) and lift out cribbage board...the pack of cards in the drawer bear the stamp 'republique francaise decret du 12 avril 1890' and are themselves valued at £25-£30.
two of the decanters have 'nibbles' to one side of their rims (not apparent until removed from the tantalus ) the mirror plate has age marks and overall normal marks commensurate with age and use but this lovely quality tantalus is in good condition and is not done justice by the photographs.
