Very decorative engraving depicting a Victorian couple in a lawyers office trying to settle a legal dispute over a right of way
This engraving is a original artists Remarque proof etching signed in pencil by the artist walter dendy sadler and the engraver James Dobie the print is still sealed within the original Hogarth style black and gilt glazed frame
Regarding condition there is a stain on the mount so the mount needs changing
the image is a strong rich impression with full margins and a Remarque to the centre of the bottom margin
Ideal original Victorian print for a person who likes Victorian scenes of fashions / room interiors .

There is some reflection in the photos due to the glass.

Walter Dendy Sadler (1854-1923) was an English painter born in Dorking a market town in Surrey in southern England, and brought up in Horsham Sussex, England, where he showed a precocious talent for drawing. At age 16 he decided to become a painter and enrolled at Heatherly's School of Art in London,studied in Germany under Burfield and Wilhelm Simmler. He exhibited at the Dudley Gallery from 1872 and at the Royal Academy from the following year through to the 1890s. He was a member of the RBA, he also exhibited at the RA (Royal Academy). He painted contemporary people in domestic and daily life pursuits, showing them with comical expressions illustrating their greed, stupidity etc. One of the true masters of domestic genre His subjects were usually set in the eighteenth and nineteenth century
