Antique 19th century English Pewter Quart Tankard with Brass rim Collar the Tankard is Engraved / Incribed for
J.Wright kings Head South Ockendon England.
The tankard Would have Originaly Belonged to the kings head pub.
The person named on the tankard J. Wright was the original 19th Century victualler / publican of the kings Head Pub in South Ockendon in 1848 as According to the Census for 1843 James Wright is Recorded as being the Publican for the kings Head Pub in South Ockendon Essex. This Pewter Tankard would have been kept Behind the pub bar for use for customers to drink ale from in the kings Head Pub .
The Pewter Tankard also Has The Royal V.R. Crown measure Touch Proof Stamp and is also stamped/ Sized for a Quart to the Side of The Tankard .
