Hector A Mace was a well known St Ives Cornwall painter / artist in the 1950s & 1960s he had a gallery known as "Clare De Lune Gallery" he was friends with most of the leading well known artists from the St Ives colony of artists of the 1950s 1960s period , his paintings often had a dream like surreal quality of subject, similar to the one offered.
