This is a lovely example of one of alexander molyneux stannard watercolours .The watercolour being a well executed watercolour, signed by the above listed artist .being a watercolour of a thatched cottage & country cottage garden with hens in the lane .The watercolour is signed and dated bottom left A Molyneux Stannard, for Alexander Molyneux Stannard .
Alexander Molyneux Stannard was a bedfordshire painter a member of the higly listed stannard family of painters ,of bedfordshire cottage garden watercolours he is a highly listed artist .Alexander Molyneux Stannard was the younger brother of Henry John Sylvester Stannard whos style of painting he was influenced by, he was also the brother of Lilian & Emily Stannard both of whom were also cottage garden watercolour painters.
Alexander Molyneux Stannard was a painter of rural veiws of thatched cottages , gardens, hens ,ducks ,etc and exhibited at the Royal Academy .
The watercolour has a gilt mount / matt housed behind glass and still sealed & housed in its original gilt swept frame
