During 1925 the Prince of Wales,later briefly Edward VII before becoming the Duke of Windsor, undertook a tour of Southern Africa. Accompanying him from the Royal household were his private secretary Sir Godfrey Thomas and Admiral Sir Lionel Halsey. On the 11th of April he attended a function during which he, his aforementioned staff and other dignitaries, including the Governor of the Gold Coast, Frederick. G. Guggesberg, signed this document. The Secretary for Native Affairs of the Gold Coast and the Assistant District Commissioner of Kibi's signatures, whose names are illegible to us, also feature.
Although showing no signs of ever having been bound this piece is in the form of pages from a day or visitors book and came from the estate of an ex highly placed official in the colonial service.
