Description

This silver and citrine brooch was made by Robert Allison and assayed in Glasgow 1955.

Robert Allison was first registered in Glasgow around 1941. He was a Scottish Silversmith based in the Gorbals area of Glasgow.

Originally learning his trade in Birmingham and later returning to his native Scottish lands to make jewellery and other Celtic related items that were exported across the world. Robert Allison was known to be a huge admirer of Alexander Ritchie's iconic Iona silver jewellery.

This brooch measures 4.5cm x 1.6cm. The citrine is large and measures 1.8 cm x 1.3cm.
