A handsome tall 1950s oak bookcase / office cabinet by Staverton and stamped E.R. This tall oak five shelf cabinet features a rectangular top over five up and over sliding action doors, with vertical dividers all raised on plinth base, stamped to the back crowned Government ER, Staverton, one dated. This beautiful oak bookcase/cabinet was made by Staverton throughout the 50s and 60s for storing files in government offices. These are beautiful pieces of furniture of superb construction quality, currently very desirable and very functional when used as a large storage solution.

Founded in 1928, Staverton produce high quality office furniture which included commissions during the Second World War for the ministry of Defence. Staverton continued to manufacture furniture ranges for the Crown Suppliers which developed into contracts for Crown Court Buildings and London hotels.

There are a matching pair available. Price is £495 each.

Please note theses cabinets are very large and heavy and will require at least two people to move into place.

Wear and marks commensurate with age. Some marks to the front right hand sides where a locking mechanism would have originally been. One cabinet is lacking the shelf dividers to the bottom two shelves.
