Russian hand painted Icon on wood panel, c1850
Rare and beautiful large mid 19th Century Russian Icon depicting a Saint/religious figure, c1850.
The icon is painted on a wood panel and has aged well. The colours are still good and the wood has taken on a great patina. The quality of the artwork is excellent and it has a great look.
Overall condition is good with minor surface wear/rubbing and minor flaking/loss to the paint. There are some historic worm holes which have long been dormant but it has been treated anyway.
