Good pair of large oil on canvas portraits by the Belgian artist Marguerite Aers (1918-1995) dated 1977. 3/4 length seated portraits of a well dressed older lady and gentleman. Confidently painted in impressionist style, note the particularly nice treatment of the face and eyes of the lady. Both sitters against a background of thickly painted browns. Clearly signed in the lower right hand corner of both canvases and dated 1977. Excellent condition presented in simple grey painted slip frames.
