An oil on board by James fry “1911 1985” a well known and sought after artist who had a studio in corfe castle Dorset from 1964 . Fry was very critical of his work and would not sell anything that was not up to his high standards on his death the studio loft was cleared by a local auction “cottes” and hundreds of unfinished paintings were discovered that had been rejected many of which are now on the market as finished works something that would have dismayed him to be considered as examples of his work. Having handled the loft clearance I have probably handled more fry’s than anyone else so I can say with certainty that this is a finished painting that he would have sold in his studio . These paintings are a great pleasure to own and a good solid rising investment.
