Description

Antique mid-19th Century Irish pine dresser.

All in one piece - the rack does not come apart from the base - this dresser is supported by sleigh feet, has one large interior-painted cupboard enclosed by two panelled doors, topped by two drawers, and plate rack, backed by original tongue & groove boards, topped by a pierced frieze and cornice.
There has been wear and tear in places you'd expect - damp and worm damage to the sleigh feet (which have undergone some repair, as can only be seen from underneath).
On both sides of the lower front the reed-moulding is missing, on the right it has been cleanly cut off, and on the left it has accrued some damage.
On the left side, a piece of newer pine has been added for no apparent reason (there is no corresponding strip on the right side).
There is some filler in the backboards near the counter top.

There are numerous splits, stains, marks, scuffs, etc. too numerous to have a photo of each - please look at photos on close-up to get a general view.
Its defects are the very thing that gives this piece its character.

200cm tall, 146cm max. length across cornice, 53cm max. depth at feet, and 39cm counter-top height.
