Description

A small 18th century oak batchelors chest of tiny proportions. The chest consists of a two small over two long drawer configeration, the drawer hardware would of orignally had drop handles, though the current brassware is period and sits rather nicely against the oak. There are two ledges that pull out each side at the top of the chest, to which you then fold open the writing slope, which has an integral compartment for paperwork, stationary etc.


The chest is missing a couple of locks from the drawers and the door to the compartment in the top is missing its lock also. There are some later restorations and some minor traces of very old wood worm.


Overall the batchelors chest is in excellent conditon and has a really wonderful patina.
