Description

An enormous 15th century english boarded oak chest of very heavy construction. The chest retains its original lock and hasp with huge original strap hinges, and a number of later iron and tin repairs. The timbers have lots of warping and twisting and the surface has the most superb untouched patina that you could hope to find on an example such as this. I would imagine that this chest would have been used to store large swords and other valuables given its large size.

The chest has age related ware and some areas of old wood worm holes, but is in excellent solid condition.
