Description

A highly unusual carved and painted hardwood figure of a lion standing on his rear two paws. We understand that this piece came from a Glaswegian theatre reception hall, as part of their unique interior decor. It was originally one of a pair however at some-point in its history they have been split up. It stands virtually a metre in height on a later wooden plinth and bracket. Beautifully carved throughout and pretty heavy. circa 1930's
