A Mid 19th Century Gillows Freestanding Mahogany Writing Table with new inset gilt tooled leather. Two frieze drawers, one stamped GILLOW twice, with dummy drawer fronts to verso and subtle inset panels to the sides. All raised on iconic typical Gillows boldly reeded and tapering legs down to the original brass cups and castors.
The design first shown in the 1830's , this example probably 1860's as signed in pencil by recorded cabinet maker R Kidd.
The table is in overall very good condition and has been through our workshop, it retained some small dings and dents and one scratch to the top ( please see image) which are all part of its history and character.
