An absolutely charming period painting that has both the size and scale to be a wonderful decorative statement piece.
Painted in a rather loose almost threatrical style but still retaining classical architectural and scenic elements and of course the unknown but very pretty and unaffected young lady in the flowing white dress and blue bodice.
Condition: Overall very good,the canvas is unlined with one patch to back , not visible from the front. We think there has been a small amount of overall professional restoration but this is not obvious.The painting is unframed , we dont think it needs it, at most we might suggest a gilt slip...perhaps!
