We are delighted to offer for sale this very fine, super collectable, fully stamped Jennens & Bettridge Antique Regency circa 1815-1820 black lacquered with Mother of Pearl inlaid and hand painted floral finish tilt top occasional table

Jennens and Bettridge (a partnership between Theodore Hyla Jennens, John Bettridge (snr), Aaron Jennens and John Bettridge (jnr) and later only A. Jennens and J. Bettridge (jnr)) (fl. 1815–1864) were highly regarded for producing quality papier-mâché wares.

They acquired the workshops of Henry Clay, Japanner to George III and the Prince of Wales, in 1816. Their original premises were in Birmingham and they started a London branch at 3 West Halkin Street, Belgravia in 1837. Later offices were established in Paris and New York

This is a very good looking well made and decorative piece, it sits beautifully in any setting and is very unitarian, the table is over 200 years old and has a wonderful period patina, its hand painted to the top with flowers and has various sections of inlaid mother of pearl, this is one of the most decorative examples you will see

The underside is stamped as mentioned, its a good clean stamp that reads well considering its over 200 years old

Condition wise we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, it is in very good order throughout, there will be some age and use related patina marks here and there which only add to the look and feel of the piece

We have long term storage which is very economically priced, we are happy to hold stock for as long as needed providing it is arranged prior to the purchase.

If sold items aren’t collected within three months and no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit the item and payment.
