Description

A tall carved oak, gilded and polychrome painted Campanile in the Venetian Renaissance Gothic Revival manner. Built in the manner of an Italian Campanile
or Bell Tower with tiled rooves under four small triangular pedimented arches, and again over four larger pediments supported on four typical Venetian Gothic open curved arches which in turn rest on capital topped columns.
Italian, late 19th century.

Notes: Big Ben, the great bell in the clock tower next to The Houses of Parliament on the River Thames, is also housed in a campanile. A massive campanile was in the original plans for our premises, the former St Michaels Church and All Angels but was never built.
