Whilst we have always been known for selling the very best furniture rural Wales has to offer, occasionally a piece comes in that we just wish we had the room for at home.
This super rare and very beautiful little 4ft 6” Welsh Oak cottage Potboard Dresser is just one such piece. Originating from Cardigan in South Ceredigion it displays all the very best features of a village carpenter made piece from the region. Perfect proportions, a most simple but outstandingly charming look, gorgeous warm nutty colour, adorned with all of its original blacksmith made hooks and it’s wonderful condition all make for a truly exceptional little dresser.
A natural beauty in every way. Made in around 1820 this little dresser doesn’t say “look at me” but you just can’t help it. It has an amazing presence and it really makes me smile as I daydream about the stories it could tell of a life lived in one of Wales’ most important towns of the time.

Length 4ft 6” = 139cm. Maximum Length at Cornice 4ft 8.5” = 144cm. Height 6ft 6.5” = 199cm. Depth 15.5” = 39cm
