Pair of 19th Century Howard Design Armchairs

Description

A very good quality pair of late Victorian long and low seated armchairs with rolled arms and padded headrest. Solid mahogany and oak framed with original brass casters, both chairs are heavy and solid with no weakness or loose joints. The fabric was a very worn and torn velvet – not original – and so we have stripped the chairs back to original hessian covering and both chairs retain their original Victorian springing to the seats.

The chairs are exceptionally comfortable, beautifully made, unstamped and priced as a pair of Victorian chairs in need of re-upholstery. However, having acquired Howard chairs in the past, everyone here thinks they are by Howard and Sons.

These chairs can be fully upholstered in a fabric you supply for approximately £700 each by my local, and excellent, professional upholsterers.

Once sat in, you will want to stay there all day.

Strongly recommended.

Dimensions are:

28 inches wide max, 28 inches deep max, and 34 inches high.

Floor to seat is 14 inches. The seat itself is 20 inches wide and 22.5 inches deep.

Floor to armrest is 22 inches. Seat back height is 26 inches.
I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.

I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
