Description

A very beautiful Georgian bureau of superb colour and condition and unusually slender at c. 28 inches wide.

The walnut veneers are bookmatched and the bureau has a deep crossbanded border to the both side panels, the fall and the five drawers. The fall has been faced in really beautiful burr walnut.

To the fall and drawers, the deep crossbanding is enhanced with a featherbanded inner border. All meticulous detailed work only found on the finest examples.

The interior is very pretty, with original central door flanked by oak lined drawers with walnut faces. Again complete and original with very fine oak boards to the drawer linings and tiny dovetails.

There is an oak well with sliding cover over and original backboards.

The principal drawers oak lined also.

With a two over two drawer configuration with solid brass high quality re-instated brass handles which have been fitted in the original holes.

A good small example and very pretty indeed - in fully restored showroom condition.
