Description
Joseph Gillott's Barrel Pen Nib Label of circa 1830's. The printed label is by Charles Whiting. Printed Letterpress and has an Embossed Border (Gaufrage)onto thick paper. The Gaufrage Security Printed Method was originally patented by Sir William Congreve in 1824. Joseph Gillott's of Bread Street, Birmingham was founded in 1827.(The black border is not apart of the label, but purely to show the edge of the label)
