Description

Superb Victorian 18ct Opal Diamond Ring. A very beautiful ring with three incredible excellent coloured opals with very bright fiery colours over all three of them, with blues, reds, yellow, pink, purple and green. The largest opal is 7mm x 5mm and the smaller two are 4mm x 3mm. These are interspaced by four old cut diamonds which are bright and lively and measure 2mm x 2mm. The ring is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, sponsor's mark G.E.C. The band is good and strong though the hallmarks are a bit faded. There are nice details of scrolling to the shoulders and a very finely worked pretty claw setting. These opals really do have the most incredible display of colours from almost every angle, unfortunately I haven't captured it as well in the photographs as I would have liked, but this ring will not disappoint if you are looking for an antique opal ring full of character. Ring size UK P and the US 7 1/2. The total weight is 3.9g
