Antique Art Nouveau Silver Bud Vase, 1912

Description

This art nouveau antique silver bud vase features a lily like design - a lily just before it bursts fully open. This trumpet shape bowl sits on a round tapering base.

This vase is fully hallmarked on the side for Birmingham 1912, and carries the maker's mark for E S Barnsley & Co.
Due to their placement on the upper surface of the vase, the marks are worn from cleaning, but are still clear and readable.

E S Barnsley (Edward Souter Barnsley) & Co operated from Frederick Street Birmingham.

The vase measures 9.5 cm (3.8") tall, has a base 3.5 cm (1.4") in diameter, and is 4 cm (1.5") at its widest across the top opening. The base is weighted.
All measurements are approximate.

The vase is in very good condition, though there are a few shallow dents.

Please study all photos as these form an important part of the description.
