Description

The India general service medal 1936-1939 was a campaign medal instituted in 1938. It recognises active service in military operations in, or on the frontier of India.
The medal could be issued with one or two bars. The first bar recognised service in the period 1936-1937, the second 1937-1939. This medal has both bars.
The medal was awarded to members of the British and Indian armies.

This medal is engraved to 1012 Naik Haider Khan of the Tochi scouts.

The medal is full size and measures approximately 3.5 cm (1.5") in diameter.
