Description

A relatively large Chinese Qing dynasty cloisonne brush bowl colourfully decorated with dragons and bearing a four character mark on the underside in excellent condition.

The outside of the bowl depicts four dragons flying over water and chasing burning pearls, while a single large dragon surrounding a burning pearl dramatically decorates the interior. The combination of blue-bodied dragons with green whiskers on a terracotta red background is a relatively rare colourway compared to the more common yellow-bodied dragons on a black background.

Dimensions: Diameter 25 cm x Height 7 cm

Weight 1.15 kg

Condition: The bowl is in lovely antique condition without dents or losses to the enamel. There is some pitting in the enamel from its original manufacture.
