Description

A beautifully framed original Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Toyokuni I (1769-1825) of a kabuki actor titled "Goro Genbu of Kobuna, the daughter of Kishida, Takigawa, and Kikunojō Segawa”, c.1824.

It is expensively presented within an ivory mount and black stained wooden frame of excellent quality.

A further example of this woodblock print is held by the Waseda University Theatre Museum in Tokyo

Dimensions: Frame - Height 62 cm x width 49 cm x depth 3.5 cm

Image (mount window) - Height 33.5 cm x width 23.5 cm

Condition: The print has not been inspected outside its frame but appears to be in very good antique condition. It is beautifully presented within an ivory mount and black stained wooden frame which is in perfect condition. This print was acquired from the same source as several other original woodblock prints all of which are presented in the same way.
