Description

This is a very stylish teak sofa frame from the 'New Yorker' range manufactured in the 1960s by Guy Rogers of Liverpool in superb restored condition. It is being sold without webbing and cushions. A good example of how this sofa would look with cushions can be found under the 'Archive' tab on the 'bbbespoke.co.uk' website.

The frame is constructed from solid afromosia (African teak) which has an attractive grain throughout.

The chair was designed by Eric Pamphilon (Director of Design at Guy Rogers) and George Freyer for Harold Dykes & family (owners of ‘Guy Rogers’) who retailed almost exclusively through the ‘Heals’ stores. The 'New Yorker' is considered to be the most iconic of their chair designs.
