Description

This is a pair of original freshwater fish chromolithographs engraved by Benjamin Fawcett after drawings by Alexander Francis Lydon for "British Fresh Water Fishes" by Rev. William Houghton, published by William Mackenzie, London, Edinburgh and Dublin in 1879. They have been recently mounted and framed using fine quality antiqued giltwood moulding and are ready to display in your home.

The fish illustrated in the first lithograph is the Azurine, Dobule and Rudd while in the second it is the Graining and Dace.

Dimensions: Frame - Width 45.5 cm x Height 35 cm x Thickness 1.8 cm. Paper - 36 x 26 cm
Weight 1.05 kg each = 2.20 kg in total

Condition: The colours are strong and the paper is in good condition with some minor age-related foxing on the left margin (outside the image) of the print showing the Azurine, Dobule and Rudd. The lithographs are on heavy grade paper with blank verso as published.
