This is a large decorative pair of circular wooden wall panels depicting Renaissance-style portraits produced in Florence in the 1980s.

They were created for BAGA s.r.l and retailed alongside the luxury lighting products for which the company is famous. A small gold label for BAGA remains on the reverse of one of the panels. The model number is ST 63, and though this particular model is not illustrated in their 1988 catalogue many of the other wall panels are shown, along with descriptions of how they were made.

A fine layer of plaster was laid on a jute surface covering a composite wooden panel. The pattern was scratched into the surface, colour applied and then the whole surface antiqued to give the impression of a Renaissance age fresco.

Patrizia Garganti has been the creative force behind the brand since its inception in 1976 and the company now retails under her name. Her creations uphold the 'Made in Italy' tradition of quality.

Dimensions: 75 cm in diameter 2cm thick (29 1/2" x 3/4"). These are large objects and quite heavy. There is hollowed out bit on the back of each which allows them to be hung from a nail on a wall.

Condition: They are in fine condition.

The muted colours and aged appearance would make them suitable for most interiors including minimalist and modern interiors.
