Large Chinese hardwood carving of Shou Lao on stag

Description

Large finely carved figure of Shou Lao who represents long life and good fortune. He rides a stag while holding a gnarled staff in one hand and the 'Golden Peach of Immortality' in the other. Carved from a single piece of hardwood, the craftsmanship is of a high standard.

The back is more simply carved and faded from sunlight while the display side has a good colour and patina.

Other couriers are available for Scotland and North Wales or where a shorter time frame is required. Purchases can also be collected in person from the Tunbridge Wells area in SE England.
