Antique Mahogany 4 Door Shop Display Cabinet

Description
CODE 0330DESCRIPTION:
This exceptional four-door shop display counter is crafted from fine mahogany and dates back to the Victorian era, circa 1880. The cabinet is designed with mirrors at the rear, enhancing the display and creating a sense of depth. Inside, there are a total of twelve glass shelves, each of which can be easily adjusted using cast brackets to accommodate different display needs. The doors are fitted with a secure brass swivel catch, ensuring the safety of your displayed items.
For convenient transportation and installation, the cabinet can be dismantled into three main sections: the plinth, the main body, and the cornice. Further disassembly is possible by removing the doors, brackets, and internal mirrors, making it adaptable to various spaces and straightforward to move.
This cabinet is highly versatile and would be an attractive addition to both commercial and domestic environments. It is ideal for showcasing awards, personal collections, jewellery, or a wide range of retail items, ensuring they are presented at their very best.

WORKSHOP REPORT
The mirrors inside the cabinet exhibit some foxing, as seen in the accompanying photographs. This natural ageing is often valued and, in certain cases, can serve as a unique selling point for mirrors. Rather than viewing it as a flaw, the foxing is generally regarded as an integral characteristic that adds to the cabinet's authentic charm and should be accepted as such.
Additionally, several of the glass shelves—while constructed from thick, durable glass capable of supporting substantial weight—have sustained chips on their corners. These imperfections likely occurred when the shelves were positioned onto the cast brackets. However, these chips do not affect the cabinet’s functionality or detract from its visual appeal, as they remain concealed once the shelves are installed.
