DESCRIPTION:
This is a super c1950s mahogany & glass shop haberdashery display cabinet. It has 2 glass sliding doors to the front to gain entry to the display area which has 3 adjustable glass shelves that sit on adjustable cast brackets each shelf in 2 halves for ease of adjustment etc. The top is mahogany with a glass strip set into it letting in plenty of light to the display area. The cabinet tapers back at the front. At the back of the display area is a mirrored back allowing items to be showcased to their very best. The back on this counter is gorgeous, and it is a shame it is the back it has 34 graduating drawers each in a super beech timber that has matured over time to a beautiful colour. The drawers are set off against the oxidised copper pull handles, and each drawer has matching name frame tags and the whole unit sits on a solid black plinth. This would look super in a kitchen as a centre piece and to use the drawers as spice drawers or similar and allow them to be seen and appreciated using the front for dishes etc as with the display counters we sell. It would suit both environment’s both commercial or residential in either setting it offers great potential both for display and for storage.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
This cabinet has had some very minimal repairs to about 6 of the drawers it’s had the glass top replaced with laminated glass and there is a very small chip to the top of the left hand glass door that really cannot be seen when the doors are fitted as a majority of it goes in the runners and it does not impair the sliding of the door in any way. It has had a handle replaced which is a small piece of glass stuck to the door as is the original however the replacement is a bit smaller again not really obvious we only noticed it when we went to close the door for photographing. There is also some very tiny nibbles to the shelves on the corners obviously been done while removing etc. This report sounds a lot but in no way does anything I’ve mentioned impair the use or beauty of the cabinet and nothing is greatly noticeable but due to the size of the item we like to mention everything to avoid any returns or dissatisfied clients.
